Google on Wednesday launched a new app to help beginners learn coding on their smartphones. Grasshopper app is available for free to download on Google Play Store and App Store
Googler's participating in the company’s Area 120 internal incubator have launched Grasshopper, It’s beautifully designed and is suitable for just about anyone who can be trusted to use a phone on their own. By solving simple challenges and answering quiz questions, you’ll soon get the hang of basic JavaScript.
Grasshopper is the best way to start your new coding adventure with fun, quick games on your phone that teach you to write real JavaScript. Move through progressively challenging levels as you develop your abilities, then graduate with fundamental programming skills for your next step as a coder.

According to the reports from Techcrunch, the main aim for googlers is to get coders proficient in the basics and core concepts, so they can take the next steps in their coding education. 
Grasshopper offers several courses, beginning with “The Fundamentals,” where users learn how code works also have two more courses where coders learn to draw shapes using the D3 library, and later create more complex functions using D3.
